If you weren't good enough for someone's wedding service but received an invite to just the reception would you go?

UM. DID THEY HAVE AN ACTUAL WEDDING OR JUST KIND OF ELOPE? MY HUSBANDS FRIENDS HAD A QUICKY WEDDING UP IN TAHOE AND THEN A COUPLE MONTHS LATER AFTER SAVING MONEY THEY HAD A BIG RECEPTION.
HOWEVER, IF THE WEDDING IS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE I FIND IT SUPER ODD THAT YOU COULDN'T ATTEND BOTH. LIKE, ARE THEY HIDING SOME SUPER SECRET WEDDING THING THAT NO ONE CAN NO ABOUT?
OK, I remember you asking me this on my fb wall & I never got to respond.
So I was one of those brides who wanted a big wedding, but had a pretty strict budget. We invited close to 450 for th actual wedding & the dance, but had to limit it to 250 for dinner.
How well do you know the couple? I'd be hurt if it were a close friend or family member. I think you really can't take it too personal if it is a friend from the past that you really aren't close to anymore. Weddings are expensive & unfortunately you rank out your guest list & do your best to include everyone.
I'd go & probably just give a card and skip a fancy gift.
